Employment Support Specialist
The role of an Employment Support Specialist involves providing comprehensive support to individuals with disabilities in their transition to employment. This includes coordinating all necessary supports and activities, working closely with a team of professionals to ensure a successful outcome.
Main Responsibilities
* Support Individuals: Understand the unique needs, strengths, and aspirations of individuals with disabilities, and provide tailored support to help them reach their employment and personal goals.
* Inclusive Workplaces: Advocate for the needs and rights of individuals with disabilities, and provide guidance and resources to managers and businesses to foster a diverse and inclusive environment.
* Career Development Plans: Assess the individuals skills and interests, set realistic and achievable career goals, and develop and implement a clear and structured plan to help them reach these goals.
* Coordination of Supports: Work closely with a team of professionals, including psychologists, occupational therapists, and other allied health professionals, therapy assistants, support workers, recruitment, and training specialists, to coordinate all supports and activities that aid the clients transition to employment.
