The Opportunity
Our leading Disputes Practice Group is looking for someone who loves billing to join them as Practice Management Assistant – Billing Specialist (PMA) working full-time, Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:30 pm.
This is a unique opportunity to use your experience in legal billing (as a Legal Assistant or Billing Coordinator/Specialist) to respond to the evolving landscape of our business and the drivers of the Practice Group. This will look like:
1. financial and matter management activities - aiding with complex billing; taking on billing and reporting responsibilities at a client/matter level; and putting systems in place for consistent time/billing arrangements.
2. continuous process improvement - reviewing current financial management processes and identifying gaps and/or opportunities for change.
3. mentoring / knowledge sharing - mentoring to junior or new starters and sharing knowledge acquired with others, particularly in the area of billing.
Skills & experience:
To be successful in this role you will need the following skills:
4. A minimum of 6 years working on end-to-end billing (preferably in a legal environment).
5. Experience using Aderant Expert is essential.
6. Advanced Microsoft Office knowledge and skills.
7. Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
8. Proven organisational and time management skills with the ability to maintain a high level of attention to detail and organisational skills to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
9. Demonstrated experience in dealing with ambiguity and adapting to changing circumstances.
10. Strong judgement and problem-solving ability.
11. Proven ability to learn, develop and implement new ways of working and to adopt new systems.
The Team:
The role of our Practice Group Legal Support (PGLS) team is critical in assisting our people to perform at the highest level and delivering the best possible service to our clients. They do this by providing high quality administrative support ranging from diary, email and matter management to producing a wide range of complex documents while utilising problem solving and influencing skills.
