About the Role
Council's Response Services Team is seeking a Supervisor of Infringements & Reviews to lead the independent assessment and review of matters relating to legislation, policies, and procedures for infringement notices, regulated dog declarations, and compliance notices. This role will be responsible for undertaking infringement reviews to ensure fairness, transparency, and compliance with statutory requirements. The successful candidate will deliver exceptional customer service and operational excellence while ensuring all processes align with legislative obligations. You will provide expert advice across all council areas regarding penalty infringement notices, research and analyse data, and prepare comprehensive reports for internal and external stakeholders. A key focus of the role is to keep management informed of legislative changes relating to SPER and CITEC, as well as any politically sensitive or high-risk issues. You may also assist in preparing matters for prosecution or hearings before the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal. Additionally, you will lead, partner, and participate in branch and cross-branch projects on an ad-hoc basis, contributing to continuous improvement and best practice across the organisation.
About you
You will hold a Certificate IV in Government (Statutory Compliance) or a similar qualification and possess substantial experience in interpreting and applying legislation, policies, standards, regulations, and procedures. As a natural leader, you are confident in setting expectations, fostering team engagement, and providing support to your staff. Your strong communication and interpersonal skills will be essential in delivering exceptional customer service and managing situations that require diplomacy and sensitivity. The ability to prioritise and manage time effectively is critical to your success, along with the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Candidates with a Diploma of Justice or a Diploma of Business Administration, experience in court, tribunal and prosecution processes, or expertise in project management will be highly regarded for this role.
