The Molecular Genetics laboratory is part of the Discipline of Genomics and is located within the Pathology Queensland Central Laboratory.
It provides statewide diagnostic genomics services to a wide variety of specialities including clinical genetics, neurology, paediatrics, oncology, haematology, immunology, nephrology, ophthalmology, obstetrics and cardiology.
Utilise high level knowledge and scientific skills when exercising independent scientific judgement in problem solving, providing high level advice, training and scientific management in Molecular Genetics.
Key competencies (role specific criteria): You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following: Demonstrated high level knowledge and clinical skills as recognised by clinical experience, professional development activities, post graduate education or formal qualifications.
Demonstrated ability to apply high-level scientific judgement to perform, interpret and report laboratory analyses in a molecular genetics laboratory.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team member, to produce an effective work output in terms of quality and quantity, and to communicate effectively.
Demonstrated contributions to the quality of clinical practice within a molecular laboratory, through compliance with organisational policies and procedures and maintenance of relevant legislative, administrative, and professional standards, including NATA / ISO / TGA accreditation / certification requirements.
