Firmware Engineer Role
As a Firmware Engineer at Cochlear, you will play a critical role in developing innovative firmware solutions for our implantable hearing solutions. Your expertise in firmware design and implementation will be essential in ensuring the quality and reliability of our products.
In this role, you will be responsible for implementing firmware deliverables on embedded platforms in Assembly or C. You will also be tasked with implementing unit and system tests using Python, Assembly, and/or C to verify the firmware against requirements. Additionally, you will manage small to medium-sized projects or subtasks within the team from start to finish.

As a member of the product development firmware team, you will contribute to the direction and strategies of the Firmware and DSP teams. Based in Sydney, you will work closely with the team to develop firmware solutions that meet the needs of our customers.
The ideal candidate will have a university degree in electronics, electrical or software/computer engineering or similar. Relevant experience in firmware design and implementation, as well as coding microcontrollers or DSPs in Assembly and C, is required. Experience working at all stages of the software development lifecycle, skilled cross-functional thinking, and problem-solving skills are also necessary.
