We are looking for a Program Officer to join our team, who will be responsible for providing high level corporate and administrative support to the Regional Director and leadership team of the North Queensland Regional Office of the Department of Trade, Employment and Training.

What you’ll be working on
As the Program Officer, you will:
- Support and deliver regional processes, including risk management, facilities management, human resource management, financial management, project management, operational plan reporting, record keeping, asset management and workplace health and safety.
- Coordinate ministerial and executive correspondence and undertake quality assurance processes to deliver high quality work within strict deadlines.
- Work closely with the regional office leadership team to support the coordination of key management activities and provide administrative support to the Regional Director.
- Undertake critical data analysis, deliver presentations and manage projects to achieve desired outcomes.
- Develop and prepare project plans, schedules, reports, briefs, business cases, and communication materials to support regional programs, projects, and activities.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of regional activities by assisting in the research, development, implementation and evaluation of projects, processes, and internal systems. This includes making recommendations and implementing enhancements to support regional programs and services.
- Provide operational advice and support on regional systems, processes and operational policies related to finance, purchasing, HR and resource management, and handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
- Build and sustain effective, collaborative, and respectful relationships with colleagues and stakeholders to ensure that knowledge and information is shared, and regional practices, operations and systems reflect contemporary administrative and management practices.

What type of person will be successful?
We're looking for someone who can:
- Demonstrate the ability to provide high quality administrative and corporate services support to the regional leadership team, ensuring the application of relevant corporate governance procedures.
- Proven program management experience and problem-solving skills, with the ability to critically analyse data and provide evidence-based advice and recommendations.
- Demonstrate personal responsibility for completing work accurately and on time, showing commitment to efficient service delivery and achieving team goals and performance benchmarks.
- Demonstrate sound written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to provide advice to internal and external stakeholders, and prepare documentation in accordance with departmental communication protocols, project management procedures and information standards, including ministerial correspondence and requests from senior departmental officers.
- Apply a growth mindset, openness to feedback, proactive approach to personal development and commitment to public sector professionalism and accountability.
