Where you'll be working NSLHD Mental Health Telephone Access Line office is located in Macquarie Hospital Campus. What you'll be doing The 1800 Mental Health Line (MHL) is a 24/7 telephone triage and referral service for people who may require referral to public community mental health services. The 1800 MHL also provides information on a range of services to assist callers with other support needs identified at triage. The Mental Health Line clinicians will be required to conduct mental health triage and risk assessment over the phone and refer individuals to appropriate services within the Northern Sydney Local Health District or to another appropriate service provider. Clinicians will be required to document calls appropriately and maintain a high standard of customer service, including a timely response to incoming calls. The role will be both challenging and rewarding. As a frontline mental health clinician, you may have contact with a wide range of callers with various mental health concerns, including people who may be in a highly distressed state, those needing short-term or longer-term mental health support, or others seeking general advice and assistance to help manage their mental health needs.
