Job Summary

  • Salary Band 8- $130,108 - $145,807 plus 12% Super
  • Lead advocacy, grants and partnerships that shape city outcomes
  • Full time, 12‐month position (parental leave backfill)
  • Located at St Kilda Town Hall or with flexible working arrangements possible

About the Organisation

The City of Port Phillip is an inner‐city council with around 1000 employees who deliver more than 100 programs and services to our residents, businesses and visitors. These range from childcare and immunisations, to libraries, management of parks and open space, rubbish collection, road maintenance and more. City of Port Phillip has zero tolerance for child abuse and is a committed Child Safe organisation.

About the Role

Lead a team to deliver Council's advocacy, grants and partnership portfolio to progress strategic priorities, secure external investment and build strong relationships across government, community and networks.

Work closely with senior leaders, Councillors, government stakeholders, external partners and project teams across the organisation.

This is a high‐impact role for someone who can combine political awareness, strategic thinking, and management practice to deliver outcomes, build capability and strengthen Council's influence.

Duties

  • Lead advocacy plans, campaigns and stakeholder engagement
  • Drive grants, funding submissions and compliance reporting
  • Build partnerships across government, sector groups and community
  • Manage priorities, resources, risks and portfolio delivery

Skills and Experience

  • Experience in local, state and/or federal government political environments
  • Experience in advocacy, government relations and/or grants
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship‐building skills
  • Excellent communication with strong strategic and analytical capability
  • Leadership experience managing projects, priorities and resources
