Our journey**
The **Victorian Heart Hospital** will be Australia's first dedicated heart hospital and is nearing its final stages of construction. It will include a full range of ambulatory and inpatient cardiac care, including cardiac theatres, cardiac catheterisation laboratories and ambulatory services such as cardiac CT, echocardiography and specialist consultation. It will also feature a unique, patient centred model of care. The **Victorian Heart Hospital** will also play a key role in advancing research and teaching and will be home to the Victorian Heart Institute, a brand new, health and medical research organisation at Monash University.

Reporting to the Food Services Supervisor, you'll be welcomed into our larger Monash Health Support Services team and will be supported by a broader team of People and Culture & Finance business partners, as well as the team of Food Services Managers and Menu monitors across multiples sites.

**A Day in the Life**:
Working closely with dietitians, Nursing staff and allied health practitioners the **Menu Monitor** is responsible for the collection and accurate collation of manual and/or electronic Patient Menus in line with set guidelines. The provision of appropriate assistance to the patients to make their menu selections in accordance with their prescribe diet code.
**Menu Monitor's** will liaise with Nursing employees, Dieticians and Allied Health specialists to ensure appropriate nutrition and hydration is offered to all our health consumers.
The role will provide a high quality, customer focused service to internal and external customers. Efficient communication and timely responses to requests for service are paramount for this position in achieving sustainable service delivery.
**Responsibilities include (but not limited to)**:
- Achieving and maintaining the highest standards in food safety
- Working closely with departmental leads and teams to drive service excellence
- Provision of high quality customer focussed service to patients ensuring meal choices align with their tastes and diet codes
- Leading our services in our pursuit of exceptional patient and employee experiences
- Experience in customer service and/or food services from a healthcare or hospitality environment
**What you bring**:
- Previous experience preferably within healthcare
- Experience in the delivery of Food Services including an ability to negotiate positive outcomes for patients
- Clear understanding of dietary codes and food safety guidelines
- A competent level of verbal & written communication skills
- Effective organisational skills with a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and commitments
- Excellent customer service skills

**What you need**:
- Certificate in Food Safety (Essential)
- Qualification relevant to Health HLTFS207C - Follow basic food safety practicesThe ability to develop and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to understand**, **follow and implement written instructions and procedures
- Basic to intermediate computer/digital skills
