Exciting Opportunity to support our Rangers working on country!
The Thamarrurr Region encompasses homelands of 20 clan groups, with thousands of cultural sites including ceremony and sacred sites, rock art and stone arrangements, recreational places, and associated heritage and values. It is home to pristine coastline where sea turtles lay their eggs, and the Moyle and Little Moyle rivers, and adjacent floodplains. These are protected by the Marri-Tjavin Indigenous Protected Area.
Thamarrurr Rangers are an important part of the Thamarrurr Development Corporation, employing 20+ local Indigenous staff. The rangers actively engage with Traditional Owners and community members in natural and cultural resource management as they work across 18,000 sq km of Country and 240 km of coastline. The Ranger Mentor’s role is to support and guide the male ranger team to operate effectively, safely, and efficiently by enhancing day-to-day organisation of activities, promoting best practices in workplace safety, and improving overall productivity. The role also involves managing the use, maintenance, and tracking of fleet vehicles, equipment, and other assets to ensure they are safe, functional, and well-coordinated for operational needs.
