Role Overview
We are seeking a highly capable Interior Designer/Sales Assistant to lead client design consultations and support the sales team throughout the project lifecycle.
You will be a client-facing, detail-driven, and hands-on professional, working closely with Project Managers, Site Supervisors, and Directors to ensure projects are designed, approved, scheduled, and delivered to the highest standards of quality, compliance, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
Client Experience & Design
* Answer incoming phone calls, make calls, and respond to online enquiries promptly and professionally
* Assist with sales strategies & create marketing documents and resources
* Schedule and conduct client consultations (in-home and showroom)
* Develop and present detailed 2D and/or 3D design plans
* Create fixtures and fittings schedules
* Prepare professional, clear, and compelling design proposals
* Assist clients with the selection of fixtures, fittings, finishes, and colour schemes
* Maintain exceptional customer service from initial consultation through project delivery
Documentation & Contracts
* Assist with drafting Master Builders Association (MBA) contracts
* Proofread contracts for accuracy, clarity, and compliance
* Read and interpret architectural drawings, engineering documentation, and specifications
Project & Operational Support
* Assist with project scheduling and coordination
* Support Project Managers and Site Supervisors
* Assist with council permits, planning applications, and regulatory enquiries
* Liaise with consultants, suppliers, subcontractors, and authorities as required
Operations & Business Improvement
* Improve operational management systems, processes, and best practices (in line with Australian Standards)
* Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve efficiency and profitability
* Assist with resource allocation, procurement, and budgeting oversight
* Foster a culture of teamwork, continuous improvement, safety, and excellence
* Provide leadership and operational support across the business
Construction Oversight & Compliance
* Support planning, budgeting, scheduling, and execution of construction projects
* Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality expectations
* Identify and mitigate project risks
* Ensure compliance with WHS regulations, building codes, and quality standards
* Maintain strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers

Skills & Experience
Essential
* Proven experience in Interior Design within residential, commerial or renovation projects
* Strong understanding of construction processes and documentation
* Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering plans
* Experience in preparing design proposals and client presentations
* Excellent communication, organisation, and client-management skills
* High attention to detail and strong problem-solving ability
* Experience with 3D design software (SketchUp, Revit, AutoCAD, or similar)
* Experience working alongside project managers or construction teams
* Operational or leadership experience within a construction or renovation business
