Inventory Management Specialist – Amentum
Location: Alice Springs, Northern Territory, Australia
The Inventory Management Specialist will provide efficient and effective inventory and property analysis, coordination, and management of activities pertaining to inventory, accountable property, and asset management. The Specialist will monitor and analyze material masters, control and analyze warehouse inventory levels, and provide logistics system data for operations and maintenance of equipment. The role involves coordination, guidance, and outreach to personnel requiring inventory, property, and material management services.
Applicants must be a USA citizen with TS/SCI or an Australian citizen who can obtain the appropriate level of security clearance.
Essential Responsibilities
- Participate in the annual Accountable Property Audit.
- Perform inventory management functions in all stores, including creation of material and equipment master records in SAP.
- Assist the Inventory Management Team with tasks that deliver optimum inventory management functions.
- Perform a range of inventory transactions within SAP.
- Prepare documentation for stocktaking activities commensurate with assigned scope of duties.
- Perform physical warehouse inventory stock takes, certify results, and reconcile discrepancies.
- Conduct inventory analysis and investigate reported discrepancies in stock levels, transactions, and serial numbers.
- Assist personnel with the use of logistics data inquiry and retrieval systems.
- Demonstrate an attitude reflective of company values.
- Ensure compliance with all environmental health and safety requirements.
Qualifications
Desirable
- SAP MM and MRP experience.
- Vocational and/or tertiary qualifications in Logistics or Business.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
- Six Sigma/process development knowledge and training.
- Degree in Data Analytics.
Experience – Minimum Essential
- 1 to 3 years in a similar Inventory Management role.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands
- Position requires standing, constant kneeling, carrying items, and the ability to lift up to 10 kg.

- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Australian or US citizenship.
EHS Requirement
All personnel are responsible for understanding and complying with all site environmental, health, and safety requirements. Responsibilities include:
- Completing work tasks safely.
- Reporting unsafe acts or conditions to supervisors or PMO/EHS Manager.
- Continuously adhering to safety procedures outlined in the handbook.
- Using the “Red-Carding” procedure to stop work if a job is unsafe.
