This project is based within the Snowy Mountains in NSW and will deliver one of the largest pumped hydro schemes in the world.Snowy 2.0 is the next chapter in the Snowy Scheme's history.
It is the largest committed renewable energy project in Australia and will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come.
This Iconic Project has and will continue to create its own legacy in Australian history.Purpose of the Role:Direct and coordinate manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements.
To ensure the successful delivery of the project within the required constraints for time, cost, quality, safety, environment and the community.Qualifications:Tertiary Qualifications or related discipline such as Electrical Engineering, Mechanical EngineeringWhite CardExperience:Minimum 5 years' experience working in the Construction Industry in a similar role – preferredExperience working on large scale construction projects or other suitable projectsProficiency in Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, Project, and Outlook.Experience with hydraulic structures, hydropower or related industrial infrastructure projectExperience with power system analysis softwareAbility to interpret electrical system studies and define key risksUnderstanding of quality plans and Inspection Test Plans for electrical works, MEP Engineering.Understanding of current and relevant health and safety regulations, good industry practice and engineering standardsAbility to work under pressure and to tight deadlinesConstruction industry knowledge and experience of mechanical systems including steel structures and pipingKnowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.Ability to read, analyze, and identify discrepancies on engineering plans, specifications, and contract documentsMust work collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperationGood understanding of Safety and Environmental legislation and practices and policies.In-depth understanding of project planning and management in the construction industryExcellent organizational and time-management skillsStrong leadership skills with the ability to lead and develop a team.Advanced skills with spreadsheets, report writing and presentations.Ability to thrive in a high pressure, fast paced environmentDetail-oriented with strong organizational skills and ability to work effectively and independently with a positive high energy attitudeCore Accountabilities and Responsibilities:Contract comprehension, commercial awareness and ability to develop substantiated claimsEntering, transcribing, recording, storing, or maintaining information in written or electronic/magnetic form.Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.Compile QA documentation including Work Packs, ITP's Method statements and Construction verificationRespectfully takes direction and adheres to feedback from construction managers and project managersProviding electrical engineering technical input into projects at various stagesUndertake feasibility and concept level electrical designs for renewable projectsAttend project sites to coordinate and witness testing and commissioning activitiesContribute to regular project meetings, communications and reports to the project manager and/or principal, which provide accurate and timely information to support their understanding of strategic risks, issues, opportunities, impacts and progressMonitors progress of construction against the program and takes steps to ensure the program is achievedEnsuring company policies and procedures are fully implemented.
