This is a permanent, full-time opportunity for psychologists at all levels—from provisional registration through to senior practitioners—who are ready to support, innovate, and develop their clinical practice. You'll be based at the Clarence Correctional Centre in Lavadia, NSW, contributing to a safer and more constructive correctional environment.
Responsibilities
* Providing advice and support for mental health wellness programs
* Conducting comprehensive psychological assessments and delivering evidence-based treatments
* Participating in clinical supervision and multidisciplinary consultations
* Assisting with the design and development of assessment and treatment tools
* Preparing detailed reports including parole board submissions and psychological advice
* Building strong partnerships with internal staff, community organisations, and local stakeholders
* Driving continuous improvement and innovation in psychological services

Qualifications And Professional Registration
* Professional registration with AHPRA as a Psychologist (provisional through senior registration levels)
* Postgraduate experience delivering individual counselling, ideally within correctional, welfare, or institutional settings
* The ability to integrate theories of mental health and forensic risk assessment frameworks into clinical practice
* A caring nature and commitment to prisoner rehabilitation, including completing risk assessments, delivering individual therapeutic counselling, and preparing defendable documentation
* The highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour
* Solid understanding of evidence-based practices in the assessment and intervention of diverse psychological and behavioural presentations
* Knowledge of social and clinical variables associated with significant offense categories is desirable
* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
