The Role
Three Finance Officers form part of a collaborative team that periodically rotate responsibilities to support the delivery of a broad range of operational finance functions.
Core Responsibilities
* Operating under general direction with limited supervision to manage the day-to-day delivery of finance functions, including:
o Accounts Receivable:
+ Creating invoices and refunds
+ Completing daily receipting and reporting activities
+ Setting up and maintaining customer accounts
+ Performing bank reconciliations, including matching and finalisation
+ Undertaking end-of-month processing and reporting
+ Managing debt recovery processes
+ Monitoring and managing shared email inboxes and help desk queries
+ Overseeing cash handling services
o Accounts Payable:
+ Processing invoices and credit notes
+ Reconciling corporate cards
+ Supporting staff with purchasing processes
+ Providing training, guidance, and documentation on finance processes
+ Monitoring and managing shared email inboxes and help desk queries
+ Completing end-of-month processing activities
o Travel Administration:
+ Assisting staff with travel itineraries and bookings
+ Processing travel allowances
+ Issuing cab charge vouchers and Uber for Business requests
+ Completing travel acquittals
+ Coordinating international travel arrangements, including official passports and visas
* Undertaking regular account reconciliations and end-of-month financial processing activities.
* Liaising effectively with internal and external stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
* Demonstrating strong time management skills, including the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
Position Eligibility
* Under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the Australian Public Service (APS).
* All applicants external to AWM that are offered employment will be required to successfully undergo a National Police Check, even if they currently hold a security clearance. The check is conducted in accordance with the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework requirements.
