About Department
SVHM is renowned for its Mental Health Services, including a 44-bed adult inpatient unit, community care teams, crisis assessment, and statewide support services, all based on the 'Strengths Model' principles.
About The Role
We are offering six full-time, accredited training positions for 1st year psychiatry registrars. Training rotations include adult inpatient and community psychiatry, child and adolescent mental health, Koori services, consultation-liaison, psycho-oncology, psychogeriatrics, dual diagnosis, perinatal psychiatry, and private practice. Candidates will benefit from comprehensive academic programs, psychotherapy training, supervision, and reflective practice groups.
The positions are classified as HM25 with a salary of $129,048.40 pro-rata per annum, plus salary sacrifice options.
Key Duties
* Assess, develop treatment plans, and manage care for patients in inpatient or community settings under supervision.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
* Lead and participate in recovery-oriented work focused on maximizing patient decision-making and social participation.
* Maintain accurate health records and documentation in compliance with legal and organizational policies.
Qualifications and Skills
* Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery or equivalent.
* Registration or eligibility for registration with AHPRA.
* Registration as a medication prescriber.
