As the Communications Manager, you will be responsible for providing specialist support to help the Department achieve its organisational goals by delivering communication that is effective for the audience.
The role is both strategic and operational, requiring the incumbent to work across multiple disciplines, provide advice to leaders and deliver outcomes independently.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Develop and deliver an annual program of communication and engagement work that supports strategic objectives, adjusting as required to meet operational and emerging needs.
- Collaborate with and provide high-level advice to leaders regarding the most effective communication strategies, content and tactics that addresses issues raised which impact staff or customers such as legislative, or organisational change and initiatives.
- Develop and implement content across a wide variety of communication channels (such as website and intranet, presentations and speeches for leaders, submissions, briefs, ministerial and departmental correspondence and online publications) that meet compliance and internal and external customer stakeholder requirements.
- Lead the development of the Annual Report to develop a product that meets the expectations of the leadership team, compliance and policy requirements.
- Manage media issues around highly sensitive, diverse and complex matters and provide written materials and support the President and the Executive Director and Principal Registrar with expert advice on strategy and content.
- Contribute to the delivery of ongoing services and success by undertaking, as needed, assignments and projects aligned with current capabilities or that provide a development opportunity.
- Participate in, develop, and complete improvements and innovations to support achieving the departments business excellence.
