Summary: The Pastoral Leader supports the school's mission by leading pastoral practices for student welfare, ensuring programs promote Gospel values, supervising teacher practices, fostering partnerships with families and external entities, managing student behaviour, and overseeing resources effectively.

About the Opportunity
In this position you will be responsible for:
* Providing leadership in pastoral care for a designated group of students, ensuring their well-being aligns with the school's mission and values.
* Supervising teachers involved in student pastoral care, offering guidance and support for effective practices.
* Facilitating the induction process for new teachers within your area of responsibility or overseeing their induction when handled by other experienced staff.
* Monitoring students' holistic development, including academic performance, social interactions, spiritual growth, and physical health, and addressing concerns through appropriate measures.
* Coordinating efforts among staff focused on student welfare, fostering teamwork and aligning activities with the school's ethos.
* Managing student behavior in line with the school's behavior management policies, promoting a safe and respectful environment.
* Organising and overseeing pastoral activities such as camps, retreats, and other events that enrich the informal curriculum, collaborating with other personnel as needed.
* Staying updated on best practices in student care and welfare through ongoing professional development and sharing insights to enhance staff learning.
* Handling financial and material resources within your area of responsibility, including budget planning and managing allocated funds effectively.
About You / Qualifications
* Experience in teaching and leading the teaching of religious education to provide leadership in pastoral care, ensuring the well-being of students aligns with the school's ethos and values.
* Strong capability to monitor students' holistic development, addressing academic, social, spiritual, and physical concerns as necessary.
* Knowledge of behaviour management practices to promote a safe and respectful learning environment.
* Experience in organising and overseeing pastoral activities such as camps, retreats, or enrichment events, collaborating effectively with relevant personnel.
* Commitment to ongoing professional development, implementing best practices in student care and sharing insights with staff.
* Experience in school leadership, or a role providing support and leadership to Catholic schools, including strong financial management skills (budget planning and management of material resources).
* Hold Accreditation to Teach Religion in a Catholic School, or equivalent from another Diocese.
* For this position you are required to be Catholic.
