Safety Program Manager

Job Summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) professional to join our organization as a Safety Program Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of comprehensive safety programs, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and reducing workplace risks.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain Return-to-Work programs to support employees returning to work after illness or injury
* Conduct medical reviews to ensure fitness for duty and make recommendations for workplace adjustments
* Investigate incidents and report hazards to prevent reoccurrence
* Lead risk assessments, inspections, and compliance enforcement to ensure adherence to WHS legislation
* Design and deliver safety training, inductions, and toolbox talks to promote a culture of safety
* Conduct internal and external safety audits to identify areas for improvement
* Implement process improvements and prevention strategies to reduce the risk of accidents and injuries
* Lead safety committees and consultations to engage with stakeholders and regulatory bodies
* Manage WorkCover claims and liaise with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues
Requirements
* 3–7 years experience in a similar safety role
* Deep knowledge of WHS legislation and risk management principles
* Experience in construction or manufacturing environments
* Strong communication and organisational skills
* Tech-savvy with Microsoft Office applications
