Excavator Operator / Civil All-Rounder
Telstra Wamarra Construction Project – OSOS Alliance
OSOS Alliance is seeking experienced, VOC-qualified Excavator Operators to join our client on the Telstra Wamarra Construction Project, working across rural and remote locations.
This is a hands-on, all-rounder role. While you will be required to assist with a variety of civil and labouring duties, holding a current Excavator VOC and being competent on excavators is essential for this position.

About the Role:
You will form part of a small, close-knit crew delivering civil construction works in remote environments. The role requires operators who are adaptable, practical, and comfortable stepping between plant operation and ground-based tasks as required.
Key responsibilities include:
* Operating excavators in line with VOC requirements
* Assisting with civil and construction activities as required
* Rod, rope and hauling works (manual and mechanical cable hauling)
* Excavation using both mechanical and hand methods
* Supporting works on fencing, blockages, and general civil tasks
* Operating additional plant and equipment where competent, including dozers, vacuum trucks, winches, mobile cranes and HR trucks
*Mandatory Requirements*
To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:
* Current Excavator VOC (essential)
Demonstrated experience operating excavators across civil works, including trenching, services, bulk earthworks, and precision tasks.
* Civil all-rounder experience
Proven ability to work across both plant operation and hands-on civil labouring duties, including fencing, hauling, hand excavation, and general ground works.
* Dozer experience
Previous experience operating dozers for civil works such as access tracks, pads, or general earthworks.
* Driving & machinery operation experience
Comfortable driving site vehicles and operating additional plant or machinery where licensed and competent, including working across rural and remote locations.
* Willingness to perform labouring duties as required
This is not a single-machine role. Candidates must be prepared to step off the machine and assist the crew as needed.

* HR licence
* Additional plant tickets or civil machinery experience
Roster & Conditions
* ASAP start
* Initial 6-week contract with ongoing opportunities
* 21 days on / 7 days off roster (non-negotiable)
* 10–12 hour days
* Frequent travel and remote site work
* Sites are rural and remote (current location Orroroo; locations may change)
Pay & Allowances
* $33–$35 per hour, dependent on experience (fixed rate)
* Overtime and penalty rates paid on top
* Living Away From Home Allowance (LAHA):
* $280 per day if using own accommodation (e.g. caravan)
* $120 per day if accommodation is booked by the client
* PPE provided
* Online medical required
