Our client, a recognized comprehensive service provider in Electrical Engineering, Rotating Equipment, Panel Design and Manufacture, Marine Services, Mining, and Site Services, is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join their team.
About the Role
The role objective, as a member of the growing Engineering Team, is to design and project manage customer projects, as well as provide technical support in problem-solving and standards compliance throughout the organization. The engineer will commission and test company-manufactured and overhauled equipment to ensure compliance with design, specifications, and Australian Standards, following company procedures and work instructions, while observing all WHS requirements.
Responsibilities
Utilizing your expertise as an Electrical Engineer, your responsibilities may include :
* Producing effective and compliant electrical engineering designs and overseeing procurement, production, testing, installation, and commissioning of those designs.
* Producing switchboard and motor control designs compliant with Australian Standards.
* Developing electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical.
* Creating panel layouts, cable schedules, and termination diagrams.
* Programming PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems.
* Commissioning, testing, and conducting final inspections.
* Developing maintenance strategies, schedules, and manuals for equipment designs.
* Project management.
* Liaising directly with stakeholders, clients, and suppliers.
* Conducting electrical site investigations leading to reports and option analysis.
* Investigating new technologies to solve customer electrical, operational, and maintenance issues.
* Attending site inspections and assisting in the preparation of tender submissions as required.
Pre-requisites
Minimum 5 years' experience in electrical design for industry, mining, or utilities, including:
* Low Voltage and Medium Voltage systems.
* Load flow studies (e.g., E-Tap).
* Critical instrument systems, including SIL.
* Understanding of automation, PLC, and HMI systems.
* Familiarity with electrical standards and auditing.
* Project management experience.
* Bachelor's Degree, Diploma, or Certificate in Electrical Engineering.
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Additional Information
* Due to their markets in Defence, Mining, Marine, Medical, and Police sectors, background checks will be required.
* Permanent residency or citizenship within Australia.
* Valid driver's license.
