Harvest Assistant & Skilled Farmhand
Hunt’s Harvest is a progressive, family-owned operation near Bundaberg. We combine the values of a family farm — teamwork, pride, and care — with the professionalism of a modern agribusiness, producing year-round hydroponic and field-grown herbs and produce for leading processors and market agents.
We’re looking for two A-players to join our team. This is a pivotal role working closely with the Harvest Operations Manager to ensure harvest runs smoothly every day. You’ll be hands-on in the greenhouse and field, but also bring leadership, organisation, and attention to detail to get the best from our team.
Harvest Assistant
Key responsibilities
- Harvesting, bunching and packing
- Supervise and assist harvest crews across greenhouses and field crops
- Maintain harvest quality and consistency to customer specifications
- Record and report harvest data, yields, and KPIs
- Support rostering and efficient crew allocation
- Work with management on continuous improvement in productivity and quality
What we’re looking for
- Previous horticulture or agriculture experience (harvest/packhouse preferred)
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Reliable, organised, and solutions-focused
- Physically fit and able to work in greenhouse/field environments
- Forklift licence preferred (or willingness to obtain)
- Desire to grow with the business and take ownership of results
Skilled Farmhand
We’re after someone to support our outdoor crew's leading hand — reliable, practical, and self-driven. This role is broad and varied, perfect for someone who thrives in farming environments and wants to be part of a growing high-performance team.
Key responsibilities
- Daily crop care, irrigation, and general farm maintenance
- Assist with planting, crop protection, and infrastructure repairs
- Operate farm machinery and equipment as required
- Work alongside the team to keep farm operations running smoothly
- Take initiative to identify and fix problems before they escalate
What we’re looking for
- Practical farming or trade skills (machinery, irrigation, or mechanical an advantage)
- Solid work ethic and reliability
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physically fit and hands-on
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- ChemCert accreditation an advantage
