As an established cheese manufacturing business, we take pride in our hands‑on approach, supportive team culture, and the quality of what we produce. We are seeking a practical and motivated Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our maintenance team and become part of our ongoing success.
About the Role
This is a hands‑on role supporting the reliable and safe operation of production equipment and site facilities. As a member of the small factory maintenance team, you will be carrying out preventative maintenance, breakdown response, line start‑ups, and continuous improvement activities.
Key Responsibilities
* Mechanical maintenance and repair of food production equipment
* Daily start‑up, shutdown and changeover of production lines to ensure stable production cycles
* Preventative maintenance task
* Breakdown response and fault-finding
* Supporting general site maintenance as required
* Ensuring all work meets food safety and WHS standards
* Weekday rotation with some weekend coverage possible (shared roster)
About You
* Trade qualified fitter, mechanical technician or equivalent hands‑on experience
* Experience in manufacturing environments (food manufacturing desirable)
* Strong or developing mechanical fault‑finding skills
* Comfortable working in a wash‑down and food‑safe environment
* Practical, reliable, and able to work independently
* Good communication and teamwork skills
* Current driver's licence required due to location
* Australian work rights required
Desirable (but not essential)
• Experience in dairy or food manufacturing
• Welding or fabrication skills
• Familiarity with preventative maintenance systems
• Forklift Licence
