The Hotel Service Worker is responsible for delivering high-quality cleaning, laundry, and catering services within the aged care environment. This role ensures that residents live in a clean, hygienic, and safe environment while receiving nutritious meals in accordance with individual dietary requirements.
This CASUAL position requires flexibility to work across all hotel services areas and shifts on a 7-day roster (including weekends and public holidays).
Responsibilities
* General Duties: Work collaboratively within the Hotel Services team to ensure resident needs are met. Provide assistance and support across Cleaning, Laundry, and Catering services. Adhere to work schedules, procedures, and infection control standards.
* Cleaning: Perform daily and scheduled cleaning of resident rooms, bathrooms, communal areas, and facility spaces. Maintain infection control standards and use appropriate cleaning chemicals and PPE. Dispose of waste in accordance with infection control and WHS requirements.
* Laundry: Manage sorting, washing, drying, folding, ironing, and distribution of resident personal clothing and facility linen. Ensure appropriate care of fabrics and follow procedures for handling soiled and infectious laundry.
* Catering: Assist in food preparation, plating, and service under direction of the Chef/Cook. Deliver meals to residents ensuring correct dietary requirements and preferences are followed. Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas, including dishwashing duties.
Requirements
* Knowledge of infection prevention and control practices.
* Understanding of food safety and handling regulations (Food Safety Certificate desirable).
* Ability to work as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Empathy and understanding for elderly residents and their needs.
* Previous experience in cleaning, laundry, or catering services – preferably in aged care or healthcare.
* Valid and current Police Certificate.
* COVID-19 vaccinations x 2 and current flu vaccination highly recommended.
* Manual Handling and Infection Control training (or willingness to complete)
