Join the dynamic team at the Pharmacy Guild of Australia, Queensland, and put your pharmacy expertise to work in a role that blends program management, development of policy submissions, advocacy and student engagement. This role is for a 12-month contract to cover parental leave, with an immediate start available. It is full-time, Monday-Friday (8:30am-5pm), based in Spring Hill and reports to the Senior Manager – Member Services.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage pharmacy programs including the Pharmacy Needle and Syringe Program, funded immunisation programs and other health initiatives
* Identify and progress strategic opportunities to enhance community pharmacy’s role in primary healthcare
* Undertake research and develop submissions to government and industry consultations which accurately represent the Guild’s policy and position
* Develop responses to regulatory matters that impact on community pharmacies within Queensland
* Drive advocacy by engaging with Members of Parliament and key partners to strengthen the role of community pharmacy in healthcare
* Build and maintain meaningful partnerships with Queensland university schools and student associations to promote student membership, awareness and alignment with community pharmacy career pathways, Guild membership and programs.
* Represent the Guild at industry events and contribute to media and communications activities
* Manage budgets, reporting and program outcomes for health programs and policy initiatives
What You’ll Bring:
* Extensive experience and knowledge of the community pharmacy industry in Queensland and Australia
* High level written and oral communication skills for varied audiences from a technical and/or policy perspective
* An ability to thoroughly research and quickly understand immediate and future impact of government policy and legislation on community pharmacy
* Strong understanding of pharmacy healthcare services and programs and the legislation and regulation that underpins them
* Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills
* Proven ability to lead projects, mentor teams, and deliver strategic outcomes
* High-level analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills
* A proactive, self-motivated approach with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement
Desirable Qualifications:
* Bachelor of Pharmacy or equivalent
* Registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia
* Qualifications in management, project management, or health policy
* Understanding of relevant legislation, privacy principles, and regulatory frameworks
