The Opportunity
As the MQ-28 program continues to grow, Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) is seeking experienced DevSecOps engineers to join the MQ-28 Digital Model Ecosystem Team. This role will build, deploy, and maintain a reliable and highly automated software development and deployment pipeline to support our agile approach and deliver world-leading capability to our customer. The position is based in Brisbane.
Responsibilities
* Application Specific Knowledge & Product Security
o Installation, configuration, maintenance and optimisation of containerised software (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker, Podman).
o Deployment and patching—configuration and maintenance of deployed Ubuntu and Red Hat/RHEL operating systems.
* Automation and Tooling
o Planning and implementing secure CI/CD pipelines to automate software delivery processes.
o Optimising resource allocation and managing build‐pipeline services to support development and production environments.
* Collaboration and Communication
o Working closely with software developers and system operators to manage code releases.
o Fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement across development and operations teams.
* Monitoring and Performance
o Implementing monitoring solutions to ensure system performance and reliability.
o Analysing system performance metrics and troubleshooting issues to enhance application performance.
* Demonstrated ability to produce and maintain clear and concise documentation (e.g., 'as‐built', configuration, system change and process documents).
Qualifications
* Proficiency with the following tools:
o CI/CD development, implementation and automation (e.g., Bitbucket, Bamboo, Artifactory & Gitlab).
o Developer VMs—configuration oversight of Windows and Ubuntu operating systems.
o Configuration management—implementation and maintenance of Ansible playbooks.
* Familiarity with security and compliance requirements.
* Systematic and logical problem‐solving skills.
* Strong communication and collaboration skills.
* Relevant certifications (e.g., Red Hat Certified System Administrator, Certified Kubernetes Administrator).
* Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
* NV1 security clearance requirement.
* Experience with Agile delivery methodologies (highly regarded).
