About the role
We are seeking experienced Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanical Fitters to join our team at AAKKA Mining & Civil Pty Ltd in Moranbah, Queensland. This is a full-time position that will see you play a vital role in maintaining and repairing the heavy vehicles and machinery that are essential to our mining and civil construction operations.
What you'll be doing
1. Diagnose, service and repair a range of Heavy Road Train Trucks and Equipment, including, Loaders, Graders and more
2. Perform scheduled maintenance and inspections to ensure optimal performance and safety of all vehicles and machinery
3. Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical issues using your extensive technical knowledge and expertise
4. Collaborate with the wider maintenance team to coordinate workflow and ensure efficient operations
5. Maintain detailed records of all work completed and parts used
6. Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to all relevant health and safety policies and procedures
What we're looking for
1. Formal trade qualification in Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanics or equivalent
2. Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident with unrestricted work rights
3. Minimum 3 years' experience as a Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanical Fitter, ideally in a mining or construction environment
4. Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently to identify and resolve complex issues
5. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
6. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to a positive, safety-focused workplace culture
7. A current driver's licence and the ability to obtain the relevant mining/construction site licenses
