As a specialist in inventory management, you will play a vital role in optimising the operational readiness of our chemical grade plant. Reporting to the manager - operational readiness, your key responsibilities will include reviewing and amending vendor supplied documentation, verifying existing material catalogued and cross referencing with manufacturer equipment lists.
Implementing optimisation and catalogue materials, populating authorisation for new stock items, reviewing inventory MRP settings in SAP including min/max and material criticality assessments, managing inventory databases and updating records as needed.
Conducting market research to identify cost-effective suppliers and alternatives, implementing and maintaining a computerised inventory management system, generating reports and providing analysis to management.
Monitoring and managing inventory turnover rates to minimise obsolescence, collaborating with maintenance and operations teams to forecast spare parts requirements.
Managing bill of materials for safety and production criticality, strategically creating and enhancing processes and procedures for supply and inventory management.
With a minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role managing ERP solutions, preferably S4HANA, and intermediate experience with materials cataloguing systems, you will be responsible for ensuring seamless inventory management across the organisation.
Key skills and qualifications required include a diploma or tertiary education in business, engineering or information & technology, previous experience as a materials planner, cataloguer, inventory or supply chain professional.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential for this role, as well as knowledge of inwards supply chain and materials management, subject matter expert in cataloguing and inventory processes.
