About the role: As the Project and Procurement Officer, you'll be a vital part of the civil construction team.
Collaborating with the Operations manager, the role involves creating budgets and implementing effective procurement strategies that support both business objectives and project success.
This role involves overseeing pre-contract functions of civil projects as well as ensuring the timely delivery and engagement of contractors and suppliers.
Your responsibilities will include: Developing and implementing procurement strategies; Assisting the management team to create and implement the Project Management Plan; Reviewing the design to assess and ensure its compliance with the requirements of regulatory authorities; Negotiating contracts, terms and pricing with suppliers and vendors; Acting as a conduit for communicating information to consultants, authorities, site supervisors, construction workers and sub-contractors; and Resolving any procurement-related issues such as delivery delays, quality discrepancies, or payment issues.
About you: To be successful in the role, you will ideally have prior civil works experience or equivalent structural and/or engineering exposure.
The ability to understand a project from start to finish and work with all the component parts, teams and authorities will also be highly regarded.
A professional standard of organisation, communication and negotiation skills, as well as a high level of attention to detail and accuracy is essential for your success.
