As a Senior Environmental Scientist – Water Quality & Compliance at Fitzroy River Water, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our water and sewerage infrastructure operates to the highest environmental standards. This role reports directly to the Manager Water and Wastewater and is your opportunity to lead the charge in sustainable practices, champion creative solutions for recycled water and biosolids, and make a lasting impact on the health of our region and its future.
This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).
What we are looking for
* Degree qualifications in Science, Engineering, Water/Wastewater (or related discipline) with demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislation, standards and regulatory frameworks.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage with a range of stakeholders, and the community.
* Time management skills with the ability to produce reports and statistics within deadlines
* Strong attention to detail and ability to use initiative in completing tasks
* Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to work with diverse teams

Application Criteria
* Degree qualifications in Science, Engineering, Water/Waste (or related discipline) with laboratory or field-based experience in water quality monitoring.
* Knowledge of the fundamentals of water and wastewater treatment processes and drinking water supply systems and the related guidelines and regulatory requirements.
* Demonstrated ability to interpret environmental data, conduct risk assessments, and prepare accurate, reports within required timeframes.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare technical reports and liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders, internal teams, and the community.
