Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-driven and strategic Technical Assurance and Control Manager to spearhead the delivery of Technical Assurance, Global Trade Compliance, and Through-Life Support activities within the Joint Gas Support and Test Equipment (JGSTE) Program.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the JGSTE governance and assurance programs, ensuring regulatory and independent accreditation compliance across all relevant program disciplines.
* Supply, Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), and Program Management to identify risks and opportunities related to program and product delivery, and develop initiatives to mitigate risks and realise opportunities.
* Ensure the supportability of assets and models within the JGSTE fleet from introduction into service through to disposal at end of life.
* Oversee configuration changes, monitor non-conformances, and provide authoritative guidance on technical delivery and asset acceptance strategies.
* Identify and execute process improvement recommendations for internal processes and material logistics information systems.
* Review, assess and process priority support requests to ensure operational capability is maintained.
* Partner with program management to eliminate risks and elevate technical and global trade compliance excellence.
* Act as the central point of contact for technical compliance, collaborating with engineering and delivery teams.
* Lead and manage a team of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
* Ensure programs' systems, products, and operational frameworks meet critical quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
* Maintain effective communication and reporting with program management.
* Initiate, drive, and contribute to the delivery of Efficiency Improvement Program (EIP) projects.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a related technical discipline and/or equivalent work experience.
* Minimum of 5 years in technical compliance, quality assurance, risk management, or systems engineering roles.
* Exposure to a Defence sustainment program.
* SAP/ERP experience highly desirable.
* High-level expertise in implementing control systems, regulatory obligations, and technical audit standards.
* Exceptional strategic thinking, multi-disciplinary stakeholder engagement, and clear report-writing capabilities.
* Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence security clearance; successful candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting 1 Security clearance as needed.
