About the Role
As the Customer Service & Office Administrator, you will play a critical role in the daily operations of our Bendigo branch. This position blends office administration, customer service, and light equipment handling, making it ideal for someone who is both organised and practical. You'll be the person customers rely on for clear communication, smooth bookings, and safe guidance on equipment use.

Key Responsibilities
Office & Customer Service
Open and close the branch/office each day.
This position requires availability for 3 days per week (Monday, Friday & Saturday mornings) with full branch opening and closing responsibilities.
Oversee daily office and hire desk operations.
Assist customers with rental inquiries, bookings, and equipment selection.
Respond promptly to email enquiries and send booking confirmations.
Resolve complaints or issues related to equipment or service.
Provide information on sewage pump-out services and schedule appointments.
Coordinate maintenance, pump-outs and service calls with technicians.
Process rental returns and inspect equipment for damage or missing items.
Maintain accurate records of rentals, inventory, and pump-out schedules.
Advise customers on safe equipment operation and basic usage guidelines.
Collect payments, process and email invoices.
Yard & Equipment Handling
Load, unload, and move equipment and materials within the yard.
A full driver's licence is required for equipment handling and yard operations.
Operate basic machinery and tools required for daily tasks.
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe yard environment.
Follow all safety procedures and report hazards immediately.
Assist and support yard personnel as needed.
Conduct basic pre-use checks on equipment and machinery.
Instruct customers on the safe and proper use of rented equipment.
A forklift licence is preferred, but not necessary.
Skills & Experience Required
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A strong customer-oriented mindset.
Familiarity with rental equipment or basic machinery (preferable).
Strong problem-solving abilities.
Effective organisation and multitasking skills.
Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, email, simple record-keeping).
Knowledge of safety guidelines for equipment handling.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging situations professionally.
Willingness to assist with physical tasks such as loading/unloading equipment.
Candidates must be physically capable of lifting up to 40kg as part of equipment handling duties.
A good understanding of small engines and machinery operations is preferable (but not necessary).
