What you'll do
In this role you will manage pre-analytical processes within the Cairns Microbiology laboratory to ensure safe, accurate and timely specimen handling. You will lead, train and support clinical assistant staff, coordinate daily workflow and foster a positive and collaborative team environment. You will perform a broad range of pre-analytical procedures, oversee quality, stock and document control processes and ensure compliance with national accreditation and certification standards.
About you
We are searching for someone who has:
Proven ability to solve problems and show initiative in the workplace.
Demonstrated ability to effectively use computerised systems
Experience in pre-analytical processes and excellent troubleshooting abilities in a Microbiology specimen reception and pre-analytical processing section.
Demonstrated ability to arrange in-service training and continuing educational programs for clinical assistant staff and delivery of training programs for changes in Standard Operating Procedures or equipment.
Proven ability to manage time effectively in a highly process driven environment with competing priorities.
