ABOUT THE CLUB

As the pioneers of the AFL, The Melbourne Football Club holds a special place in history. Our legacy dates back 165 years, when we wrote the rules of the game. We became the inaugural VFA/VFL/AFL Club and still carry the distinction of being the oldest professional sporting club in the world. Our vision of the future has been shaped by the foundations of our past. A foundation which created the Demon Spirit.

At Melbourne, we're proud. Proud of our rich history, proud of our values, with Trust, Respect, Unity, and Excellence at our core. Proud of our people, who live these values each and every day. Proud of our passion, our colours and our spiritual home. We're proud to belong.

ABOUT THE ROLE

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Digital Video Producer to join our Marketing and Communications team, in a full time, permanent capacity.

Working closely with our talented content team, this role plays a key part in bringing the Melbourne Football Club brand to life through dynamic, engaging, and creative digital and social media content. You'll be instrumental in capturing the stories, moments, and personalities that make our club unique.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Reporting directly to the Video Production Manager, the key areas of responsibilities include:

* Plan, capture, and produce engaging digital content across Melbourne Football Club's channels including long-form features, short-form social videos and podcasts
* Develop original, platform-specific video concepts designed to drive engagement and reach across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook and X.
* Produce premium video content for club sponsors, commercial partners, and third-party collaborators aligned with brand guidelines and campaign objectives.
* Execute real-time content capture and publishing on match days, delivering fast, high-quality content.
* Collaborate on creative briefs, contributing fresh, strategic ideas and storytelling solutions for both internal departments and external stakeholders.
* Stay ahead of evolving social media, video, and content trends—including emerging formats, storytelling styles, viral mechanics, platform algorithms, and production technologies—to ensure Melbourne's content remains innovative, engaging, and relevant.
* Liaise professionally with players, coaches, partners, and internal teams, building trust and delivering content that reflects the club's culture and values.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

You're a creative storyteller who knows what captures attention on platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. Passionate about AFL and connecting with football fans, you bring energy, curiosity, and a sharp sense of what resonates online. Whether it's behind-the-scenes clips or social-first videos, you're always thinking of new ways to bring the spirit of the Club to life through compelling content.

You'll have 1-3 years' experience in filming and editing, with a strong understanding of video camera operation and production techniques. You're currently studying or have completed a relevant tertiary qualification in media, film, or television. You have advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including After Effects and Premiere Pro.

You're highly organised, action-oriented, with a genuine willingness to learn. You thrive in fast-paced environments where your exceptional time management and organisational skills allow you to effectively juggle multiple projects. Strong communication and interpersonal skills come naturally to you, and you're just as comfortable working independently as you are collaborating with a team. Flexibility is key in this role, so being available for non-traditional hours including nights and weekend matches is essential.

PERKS & BENEFITS

This position presents the opportunity to work in a unique environment at one of the world's most iconic sporting stadiums, the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Our people thrive within a club that is committed to a standard of excellence and supported by a culture of wellbeing and balance. As a Melbourne Football Club employee, you will have access to unique perks and benefits including:

* Access to a range of AFL/AFLW special and unique events that the whole family can enjoy.
* A fridge full of healthy and delicious snacks to enjoy and fresh fruit delivered weekly.
* Hybrid work environment with 'Start Monday your Way' with a 10am start to kick off the week, and Work From Home Wednesdays.
* Ongoing commitment to your personal and professional development.

HOW TO APPLY

If this sounds like the right opportunity for you, please submit a cover letter and CV in the same document, outlining your suitability for the role.

Applications close Friday 22nd August 2025. Please note that interviews may commence prior to closure date.

The Melbourne Football Club is an equal opportunity employer and encourages applications from suitably qualified and diverse candidates. If you believe that you have the passion, dedication, and potential to contribute to our organisation but may not meet all the specified selection criteria, we still encourage you to get in touch with us. We recognise that talent comes in many forms and that unique skills and experiences can be valuable assets to our club.

Please note that due to the overwhelming number of applications received by the Club, we are unable to reply to every application. Only those applicants selected for an interview will be contacted.

Our Commitment to Safeguarding Children & Young People

We expect all Club representatives and any other affiliated persons, regardless of their role or level of responsibility, to act to safeguard children and young people from harm and neglect and to ensure that all children feel safe and are safe.
