Primary objective
Contribute to the delivery of skilled migration programs in the Northern Territory and provide relevant information to key stakeholders.
This is a key frontline position for the unit and is the first point of contact for stakeholders.
Context statement
MigrationNT sits within the Business and Regions division and has carriage of skilled migration programs in the NT. Through the delivery
of these programs, it supports the NT Government's objectives of achieving economic and population growth.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Undertake administrative duties, assist with assessments, and case management in relation to a range of applications under skilled
migration programs.
2. Attend to and triage enquiries received via phone and email from various stakeholders.
3. Provide information on skilled migration programs to external stakeholders including NT employers, industry, community, and skilled
migrants.
4. In liaison with relevant contractors, assist with the management of MigrationNT online application systems.
5. Provide administrative support to team members for projects, programs and events as required, including undertaking travel bookings
and making accurate records of payments and acquittals on relevant finance systems.
6. Undertake other duties as directed.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Previous practical experience in office administration, business processes, office software packages, web-based application portals,
corporate reporting systems and databases.
2. Demonstrated time management and organisational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and work with minimal supervision in a
busy environment.
3. Demonstrated knowledge of skilled migration programs and their relationship to the Northern Territory's demographics and economy.
4. Demonstrated skills in monitoring and managing sensitive information, with a high level of attention to detail, accuracy, and integrity.
5. Well-developed teamwork, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to maintain a high level of
confidentiality.
6. Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, and with people of diverse cultures.
7. Demonstrated high level of computer literacy and knowledge of various office software packages and their application.
Desirable
1. Experience with NT Government systems such as TRM, TRIPS (Travel Request Information Process System), NTG Pay and Expense8.
