Reports to: Workshop / Maintenance Supervisor
Responsibilities
* Install, service, diagnose, repair, and maintain hydraulic systems, pumps, valves, hoses, actuators, and cylinders.
* Interpret and work from hydraulic schematics, technical manuals, and engineering drawings.
* Conduct pressure and performance tests, calibration, and system leak tests.
* Disassemble, repair or fabricate hydraulic components (e.g. pistons, seals, spools).
* Carry out preventive maintenance and scheduled inspections of hydraulic equipment.
* Maintain records of maintenance, repairs, and parts used.
* Adhere to safety, environmental, and lock-out/tag-out procedures.
* Collaborate with other trades (mechanical, electrical) to support integrated system repairs.
Requirements
* Only applicants with full Australian work rights will be considered.
* Trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting, Hydraulics, or equivalent.
* Minimum of 3–5 years' experience working with hydraulic systems in mining, heavy industry, or similar.
* Strong understanding of fluid mechanics, pressure systems, sealing technology.
* Skilled in fault finding, diagnostics, use of test benches, gauges, and instrumentation.
* Ability to use hand tools, precision measuring tools, and workshop equipment.
* Excellent safety awareness and ability to follow procedures.
* Good communication, ability to work under supervision or autonomously.
Salary & Conditions
* Base salary: AUD 92,000 per annum + Super
* Full-time, standard hours, with possible overtime, shift or standby duties
