The Role 
We’re seeking a highly capable and forward-thinking Executive Chef to lead the Back of House culinary operations within the Events & Conferencing portfolio at Crown Melbourne. In this senior leadership role, reporting to the Culinary Director, you’ll set and execute the strategic direction for our Events & Conferencing kitchens, drive operational excellence and deliver exceptional guest experiences. 
Leading a large and diverse team of culinary professionals, you’ll oversee a fast-paced and multifaceted environment—including hot and cold kitchens as well as staff dining. You’ll collaborate closely with senior leadership and other key stakeholders to ensure seamless execution across large-scale events and our premium hospitality offerings. 
Some responsibilities of the role will include, but are not limited to: 
- Lead and manage kitchen operations across multiple outlets and teams 
- Develop and manage budgets, cost control strategies and labour planning 
- Drive culinary innovation through menu development and special promotions 
- Foster a high-performance culture through coaching, mentoring and team development 
- Collaborate with internal departments to deliver seamless guest experiences 
- Analyse performance data and implement continuous improvement initiatives 
- Ensure compliance with HACCP, food safety and OH&S; standards 
About You 
- Relevant culinary trade qualification(s) 
- 5+ years’ experience in senior culinary leadership roles within large-scale operations 
- Strong commercial acumen with strategic thinking and financial oversight capabilities 
- Advanced expertise in culinary techniques, HACCP compliance and team leadership 
- Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills 
- Proven ability to lead diverse teams and foster a cooperative high-performance culture 
- Commitment to culinary excellence through innovation and continuous improvement 
- Strong understanding of industry trends and evolving customer expectations
