About The Role:
We are seeking an experienced Centre Director to lead a brand-new, purpose-built 106-place early learning centre in Howrah, just outside Hobart, opening June 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a new service and play a key role in shaping it from the ground up. You will be responsible for establishing strong operational leadership, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, supporting and developing your team, and building meaningful connections with families and the local community, all while delivering high-quality education and care.

What You'll Do:
* Setting up processes for the daily operations of the centre and ensuring a safe, nurturing environment.
* Be a good Mentor, set up, guide and inspire your team to deliver high-quality early learning programs.
* Set up and comply with compliance practices with the National Quality Framework (NQF), National Quality Standards (NQS), Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), and all relevant legislation and policies.
* Setting up budgets, staffing, enrolments, occupancy growth and centre performance goals.
* Building and maintaining positive professional relationships with families and the local community.
* Driving continuous improvement through quality planning, self-assessment, and reflective practice.
* Acting as the primary contact for families and external stakeholders, including during audits and regulatory visits.
What We're Looking For:
* Diploma or higher qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care (ACECQA-approved).
* Current Working with Children Check, First Aid (incl. CPR, Asthma & Anaphylaxis), and Child Protection/Safe Sleep training (or willing to obtain).
* Minimum 3+ years’ leadership experience in early childhood services (Director/Manager/Assistant Manager).
* Experience managing larger services; 70-80 licensed places at least.
* Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and operational decisions.
* Strong leadership, team development, and people management skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
* Experience with curriculum planning, compliance (NQF/NQS/EYLF), and quality standards.
