About the role: We’re looking for a motivated and skilled Senior Town Planner to join our government-based construction, building and maintenance department on a contract basis. In this role, you’ll be part of a team that maintains and delivers essential building and maintenance services across Queensland. You’ll play a key role in supporting the safe and reliable operation of the state’s schools, hospitals, housing, and government facilities. Responsibilities include but not limited too: Provision of town planning services to Department customers. Provision of formal advice, obtaining planning approvals and due diligence reporting to inform capital projects. Requires a high level of knowledge of planning legislation and policies, and ability to manage multiple projects and customer engagement. Delivering maintenance, construction, and project management services for public infrastructure across the state. Additional requirements and/or highly desirable skills : Project management experience is essential noting there is a need for the role to consider budget, internal and external stakeholders and customer engagement. High level knowledge of Microsoft suite is also critical in order to operate within the Team and utilise departmental documents. To be successful you will have the following: A degree in Town Planning or Urban and Regional Planning from a recognized tertiary institution. A current driver’s license.
