DP Jones & Co Memorials is seeking a Foundry & Stonemasonry Assistant for our manufacturing operations based in Kyabram, VIC.
We are flexible You could be semi-skilled and ready for further on-the-job training OR bring complimentary skills and have an advanced start.
You could be new into your trade career, changing industries or wanting a predictable tradecraft job to use your developed skills. Our role can accommodate the right candidate.
If you have trade skills such as cutting, grinding, welding, prefab work, sandblasting, mortar, metalwork, and good attention to detail, we want to meet you.
We're offering a relatively physical role as a Foundry & Stonemasonry Assistant, initially working closely with our Foundry Manager to drive our cast bronze manufacturing.

We provide job training and support employees to achieve formal certificates (typically Cert 3 in Engineering-Fabrication, Cert 3 in Engineering - Casting and Moulding, or Cert 3 in Stonemasonry). First Aid, Forklift and Crane licences, other trade tickets supported.
ROLE SPECIFICS
DP Jones & Co Memorials is seeking an experienced skilled or semi-skilled FOUNDRY & STONEMASONRY ASSISTANT to work closely with our Foundry Manager and Operations Director.
* Offered as a Full time or Part time position with a 3-month probationary period.
* A diverse role, tailored to the individual and working across our Metal and Stone divisions.
* Based at our Kyabram manufacturing location with potential for off-site job activity.
* Able to work hours from 7.30 am onwards.
* All uniform, safety equipment and tools supplied
* You will be encouraged and supported to continue with your trade and skills development.
* Role is graded as C11 per the Manufacturing Award and assuming Cert II level experience. Will be adjusted for candidates with higher experience / skill levels.
* We offer an above award base rate plus Super + Overtime. Scope to vary the role activities for the right candidate. Show us your skills
Responsibilities (but not limited to):
PRIMARY
* Assist in the assembly and production of cast bronze plaques.
* Participate in all aspects of a Bronze & Aluminium Foundry cast plaque manufacturing process as you gain experience.
* Pattern creation
* Sand moulding and pre-melt preparation
* Metal casting
* Metal cutting, polishing, sandblasting, painting, etc
* Accuracy, attention to detail and the ability to read plans / drawings / layouts is important.
SECONDARY
* Assist in the construction and assembly of stone monuments and mausoleums.
* Concrete piers and footings
* Granite memorial construction, installation of bronze plaques
* Silicone and mortar work
* Labouring, lifting and some offsite work is involved
* Materials handling and general production duties
* A strong work ethic attention to detail, and pride in your workmanship.
Prior experience / Skills (favourable but not essential):
* Experience in complimentary industries – Fabrication, Welding, Concreting, Tiling, Landscaping
* Experience in the safe use of power tools & hand tools.
* Experience with industrial machine operation advantageous (spray booth, sanding belts, milling machines, sandblasting)
* Cert 2 qualifications in Fabrication / Concreting / Stonemasonry or relevant experience highly regarded
* Drivers licence, forklift licence and construction induction card advantageous
On the job guidance will be provided to the candidate with suitable base skills.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $29.00 – $36.00 per hour
