We are regularly tendering for works in Brisbane & greater QLD and are seeking expressions of interest from experienced Civil Site Engineers DTMR Level SEC01 or 2 (the old B02 classification) who are capable of committing to assignments for a period of 1–2 years for Road / Highway Upgrade Programs, with the possibility of ongoing extensions or other projects.
The Civil Site Engineer role is not limited to entry‐level engineers as often identified by private industry. The title carries significant influence with TMR, Urban & Regional Councils. Senior Civil Site Engineers with over 20 years of experience often move into senior regional, state, national or director roles.
These roles are responsible for site construction works and contribute to, or provide, professional services to support the delivery of major infrastructure projects to time, cost and quality criteria, under the supervision of the Project Manager, Contract Manager or Client Representative.
Responsibilities
* Contribute to the effective management of infrastructure projects in accordance with designated time, cost and quality objectives;
* Monitor and report on progress, foreseeing problems and implementing corrective action to maintain objectives;
* Maintain project quality standards in consultation with clients, and monitor the quality of project inputs;
* Assist with project budgets, cash flows and funding arrangements;
* Assist with project and resource scheduling;
* Contribute to a safe and healthy work environment, free from discrimination and harassment, by working in accordance with legislative requirements, the Code of Conduct and departmental human resource policies, including the Workplace Health and Safety requirements;
* The Site Engineer may be required to act as Administrator's representative.
Mandatory Experience
* At least 5 years of prior Civil Roads Infrastructure construction experience with any Australian State Government Road Authority, preferably the Department of Transport and Main Roads in Queensland;
* Knowledge of AS2124 General Conditions of Contract and DTMR policies, standards, specifications & procedures.
Overseas candidates without this mandatory experience are unable to be considered.
Desirable Experience
* Experience in the delivery of civil engineering projects, including road and bridges;
* Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of road, bridge design, construction, maintenance and materials;
* Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written, including the ability to establish good working relationships with customers and stakeholders at all levels, and deal with situations requiring consultation, negotiation and conflict resolution;
* Proven commitment to the principles and practice of ethical conduct, equity and diversity, workplace health and safety, customer service, quality management and client‐oriented service, and risk‐management.
You should have a current open QLD/Australian driver's licence.
Mandated qualifications include possession of a degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification recognised as a full Member of the Institution of Engineers Australia (MIEAust). An RPEQ accreditation is a distinct advantage for more senior roles.
The roles are generally in the Brisbane &/or greater QLD region and will be discussed prior to engagement. The envisaged hours are nominally 40 hours per week (approximately 8 hours per day), though this may vary with each role pending project requirements.
