About the Role
You will design, coordinate, and deliver leisure and lifestyle programs that are culturally meaningful, inclusive, and engaging for Elders. Activities will reflect and celebrate Aboriginal traditions, values, and community connections, while supporting residents' physical, emotional, social, and spiritual wellbeing.
Working closely with Elders, families, and the care team, you will help foster a respectful, supportive environment where residents feel valued, connected, and empowered to maintain their identity, independence, and purpose.
About You - Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
Qualifications & Registrations:
* Qualification in Lifestyle and Leisure, or willingness to obtain
* And/or qualification in Aged Care
Knowledge & Skills:
* Strong understanding of Aboriginal culture
* Ability to plan, deliver, and evaluate recreational and rehabilitative programs for Elders and the Aboriginal community
* Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
* Ability to communicate in clear, plain English suitable for Elders' needs
* Warm, mature approach with the ability to connect with older people
* Strong teamwork skills and ability to work independently
* High level of confidentiality and professionalism
* Commitment to working within the culture of Rumbalara Elder's Facility
Desirable:
* Additional qualifications in dementiacare, music, art, or other areas related to diversional therapy fields.
* Experience in aged care settings, including safety and quality standards
