We collaborate closely from early contractor involvement through to detailed design development to achieve optimal results for our clients.Position: Protective Coatings Workshop Supervisor (Afternoon Shift)Alfabs Protective Coatings is seeking an experienced and dynamic Protective Coatings Workshop Supervisor for the Afternoon Shift. This role involves overseeing operations within our APC workshop. Reporting to the Operations Manager– APC, the Supervisor ensures effective task execution, safety, quality, and productivity. You will lead, mentor, and support your team to uphold high performance standards.Main Duties and ResponsibilitiesSupervise APC Workshop: Manage the paint and blast workshop to ensure work is completed on schedule and meets high-quality standards, aligned with project requirements.Shift Operations: Oversee shift start-up, including opening the workshop, task allocation, pre-start checks, supervising progress, and quality assurance.Efficient Operations: Collaborate with management to identify and implement operational efficiencies to boost productivity.Leadership & Mentoring: Provide clear direction and mentorship to Leading Hands and team members. Develop Leading Hands for succession planning.Workplace Standards & Safety: Guide the team on work standards, procedures, and hazard identification to ensure safety and compliance.Skills and ExperienceMinimum 12+ months experience in industrial painting/blasting.Proven workshop supervision experience within the protective coatings industry.Experience with airless and conventional spray applications.Experience applying protective coatings by brush and roller.Surface preparation skills, including mechanical tools use.Strong communication skills for effective interaction across all staff levels.Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and uphold quality standards.Desirable Skills and QualitiesTrade certificate or relevant qualification.Strong work ethic, reliability, and motivation.Experience working on mining, construction, and infrastructure projects.
