The Opportunity
Our Springhill - Port Kembla Manufacturing facility is looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Technician in our Paint and Finishing Maintenance team based in Springhill - Port Kembla. As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers.
The painting and finishing department at Springhill is the final process in the manufacture of COLORBOND®, where coils of steel are painted with our world leading Colorbond coating process and then packaged and despatched to our Australian & International customers.
In this vital role, you will use your technical expertise to drive essential outcomes in the maintenance and development of the buildings and facilities within the Springhill plant. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to, coordinating routine maintenance work involving structural steel, wall & roofing, Buildings & Facilities maintenance, minor civil works, and surrounding grounds maintenance.
What Will You Do?
In a role that impacts the safety of our people as well as the quality and reliability of our equipment and products, you will:
* support ongoing and efficient upkeep of departments building and facilities maintenance
* plan and organise for day-to-day maintenance and upcoming scheduled works.
* contribute to the team with out of hours support.
* seek ways to continuously improve our maintenance strategies.
More About You
As an experienced Mechanical tradesperson, you’ll enjoy taking ownership for your work and contributing to the larger team. You will bring:
* experience as a qualified Mechanical Fitter/Machinist or Engineering Fabrication
* experience in maintenance of steel structures/buildings is preferred
* proven exposure to maintenance management systems and basic computer skills
* an enthusiasm to learn new skills and develop yourself in the role
