We are seeking a highly skilled and creative AV Technician to join our College. This is a permanent part-time position spread over Monday – Friday (26.5 hours per week, 0.7FTE), with a start date to be negotiated. Reporting to the Director of the Arts and working closely with Theatre – Technical Operations, you will provide AV and technical expertise for the RNDM Theatre and other College events and facilities, including support for external users.
Your responsibilities as an AV Technician include:
1. Providing technical support for AV, sound, and lighting, including programming.
2. Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
3. Applying knowledge of lighting equipment and sound systems.
4. Setting up and distributing lighting networks.
5. Assisting the Arts department with the design and construction of production sets and props.
6. Setting up and packing down AV equipment across campus.
7. Using power tools to build set pieces and props.
8. Ensuring safety procedures are followed, including testing and tagging equipment in collaboration with the Facilities Department.
9. Soldering leads when necessary.
10. Maintaining and operating theatre technical equipment.

2. Proficiency in AV computer software applications.
3. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for working with staff, students, parents, external hirers, and the public.
4. Effective problem-solving abilities.
5. Good time management skills to handle multiple demands and work under pressure.
6. Adaptability to respond to change effectively.
Qualifications Required
1. A degree or equivalent in Technical Theatre or Audio Visual fields, or industry experience.
2. Senior First Aid Certificate.
