State Director Opportunity

About the Role

This strategic leadership position combines sales and operational expertise to drive revenue, profitability, and service excellence across the state. The ideal candidate will be a commercially focused leader who excels at building strong teams, driving growth, and optimizing operations.


Key Responsibilities

* Develop and execute state-level sales strategies aligned with company objectives.
* Lead, coach, and motivate the sales team to achieve revenue and margin targets.
* Maintain strong relationships with key customers, suppliers, and stakeholders.
* Identify new business opportunities and drive market share growth.


Operational Management

* Oversee warehouse and distribution operations to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with safety standards.
* Implement best practices in inventory management, order fulfillment, and logistics.
* Monitor operational KPIs and lead continuous improvement initiatives.


Leadership and People Management

* Provide clear direction and leadership to teams across sales and operations.
* Foster a high-performance culture built on accountability, collaboration, and customer satisfaction.
* Manage workforce planning, recruitment, and staff development to support business growth.


Financial and Reporting

* Collaborate with senior leaders on state budgets, forecasts, and performance reporting.
* Monitor financial performance and take corrective action where required.
* Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.


Requirements

* A minimum of 3+ years in a leadership role with combined sales and operational responsibilities.
* Proven sales leadership experience, ideally within the building products industry.
* A strong understanding of warehouse and distribution operations.
* Demonstrated ability to lead multi-functional teams and deliver results.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
* Strong commercial acumen, including budgeting and financial management experience.
