About the Role:
Are you ready to shape the future of a leading university through strategic financial insights? As a Strategic Financial Analyst at Curtin, you will play a critical role in informing the direction of the university by providing deep financial and business insights that drive key decisions. You will work closely with senior executives, using your expertise to develop innovative financial models and scenario planning that reflect both external and internal environments.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Design and implement commercial modelsthat support the rollout and operation of high-impact strategic projects.
* Develop and refine complex financial toolsto inform critical university business cases, ensuring decisions are data-driven and forward-thinking.
* Deliver creative financial insightsthrough out-of-the-box thinking and robust analysis, helping senior leaders navigate complex challenges.
* Conduct scenario planningto project financial outcomes under various conditions, providing the university with a clear roadmap for the future.
Who we are looking for/Selection Criteria:
We're seeking a passionate and experienced financial analyst who can strategically provide thoughtful solutions to complex problems. In addition, we are seeking candidates with:
* A degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field, and/or equivalent experience.
* 5+ years' experience working in a Financial Analyst role within a large and complex organisation.
* Membership with a relevant professional association (FINSIA, CPA, CAANZ).
* Advanced skills in financial analysis and modelling, with expertise in Excel and data interrogation.
* Exceptional communication skills to build and maintain strong relationships across all levels of the organisation.
* Independent judgment, initiative, and problem-solving abilities.
* Experience in a customer-facing role, particularly in working with senior stakeholders.
* A deep understanding of financial systems, with experience in platforms such as Technology One/XLOne (preferred), Oracle, or SAP.
