About the role

As the Senior Infrastructure Approvals Advisor, you will be the key subject matter expert providing advice on complex development approvals, environmental approvals, Native Title / Cultural Heritage, land acquisition, and licensing to support delivery of Unitywater's capital works program and strategic ambition.

You will play a critical role in identifying and obtaining third-party approvals required for capital works projects and contribute to the development of systems and processes that ensure approvals risks are identified and managed early. Additional key functions will include but not be limited to:

* Act as a key advisor, working with internal and external stakeholders to inform infrastructure approval pathways and environmental management considerations that support program delivery.
* Work closely with Integrated Delivery Teams (IDT) and delivery partners to support approvals for complex infrastructure projects.
* Represent Unitywater in meetings with key external agencies (e.g. Local Councils, Department of Environment and Science, Department of Main Roads and Energex) regarding project approvals and legislative changes.
* Work with the Approvals and Regulatory Manager in the coordination of the compliance and potential renegotiation of operating licenses to deliver the Treatment Services Roadmap and facilitate regional growth projections.

About you

* Significant experience in statutory approvals, including preparation and delivery of complex development applications, environmental approvals and negotiations with government agencies.
* Experience in providing advice on environmental and planning approvals and land acquisition requirements for linear infrastructure and/or major processing sites.
* High level interpersonal skills, with a proven ability in consultancy and negotiation with government regulators, and a strong focus on quality customer service.
* Exposure to the Native Title Act and cultural heritage procedures, as well as experience in developing and maintaining approvals programs for capital works with complex engineering and approvals requirements would be advantageous.
* Relevant tertiary qualifications such as Environmental Science / Management, Law, or Town Planning.
