About The Role
Reporting to the WSIG Program Manager, We are seeking an experienced WSIG Assistant Project Manager to join our Portfolio Project Management team
.
You will get an opportunity to contribute to city-shaping initiatives, support strategic capital works delivery, and help drive transformational outcomes for the community. As an WSIG Assistant Project Manager, you will be part of a high-performing team advancing projects such as the Railway Parade Bridge, Centre of Excellence, Building Renewal and Town Centre developments.
The Successful Candidate Will
* Provide program and project management services across the delivery of the WSIG Program.
* Support the WSIG Program Manager and Executive Manager Portfolio Project Management (EM-PPM) on the coordination and delivery of the WSIG Portfolio of projects, including Railway Parade Bridge, Centre of Excellence, Building Renewal and Town Centre Projects.
* Act as the Council's representative to manage and direct external project managers and consultants to deliver on project goals and outcomes on designated projects; including scope, quality, time, safety, cost and sustainability.
* Undertake regular inspections of each project work area, in regards to progress, claims evaluation and WHS to enable facilitation of accurate contractor payments, to ensure accurate program reporting, and to ensure the safety of Council, Contractor, Consultants and the community.
* Facilitate internal stakeholder engagement across the WSIG Program, through the whole of the project lifecycle.
* Represent Council as the client, by provision of advice and direction, in relation to meeting project outcomes.
* Coordinate project activities, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
* Assist in risk assessment and mitigation strategies for project success.
* Provide administrative and operational support to the WSIG Program Manager.
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for WSIG Program process efficiency.
* Value management of the design management process in consultation with the WSIG Team, consultants and other Council and external stakeholders.
* Support the WSIG Design Coordinator in the development, implementation and management of suite of development standards.
* Regularly monitor construction works on site to ensure that works are being delivered in accordance with Council's briefed requirements.
To Be Successful In Your Application You Will Demonstrate
* Tertiary qualifications in design, construction, engineering, project management, or other relevant
* Current Class C Drivers
* General Construction Induction Card (White Card).
* Proved track record in the coordination of consultants, contractors and working groups on complex infrastructure projects concurrently.
* Extensive experience in managing a broad range of stakeholders on complex infrastructure
* Demonstrated extensive experience in developing designs in accordance with allocated
* Demonstrated experience delivering complex open spaces projects in the public domain.

Desirable Criteria
* Proved track record of design management related to the construction of large scale, complex infrastructure projects or capital works projects, particularly within a developed urban environment
* Knowledge of Local Government procurement and delivery processes would be highly regarded
* Demonstrated ability to review design options, including concept and construction drawings and specifications, covering public domain areas and open space projects.
