Job Role Overview

The Water Management Coordinator is a critical position in ensuring the safe, efficient and compliant operation of water treatment facilities. As a leader in water management, you will oversee the development and implementation of best-practice policies, drive innovation and continuous improvement to protect our environment and community.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead skilled teams, shape policies and ensure environmental and community standards are met. You will have the chance to work collaboratively with stakeholders, provide expert advice and resolve customer concerns.


Main Responsibilities

* Manage the safe, efficient and compliant operation of water treatment plants, pump stations and supporting infrastructure.
* Plan and optimize operating schedules, projects and processes to improve performance and cost-effectiveness.
* Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, safety protocols and organizational policies.
* Lead and develop staff through effective allocation, training and performance management.
* Oversee environmental reporting, incident investigations and response to minimize impacts.
* Engage with stakeholders by providing expert advice and resolving customer concerns.


Essential Skills and Qualifications

* Certificate IV (or higher) in Water Operations or equivalent qualification.
* Demonstrated experience at a supervisory level in the water industry, particularly in a treatment environment.
* Well-developed knowledge of water treatment equipment operation, capacity and limitations.
* Knowledge of potential hazards associated with water treatment plant operation.
* Understanding of pumping and valving systems, mechanical and electrical controls.
* Skills in chemical dosing processes and applicable Acts and Regulations.
* Computer literacy with understanding of SCADA and Telemetry systems and Microsoft Office suite.
* Ability to manage finances including planning, budgeting and delivering excellent customer service.
* Current Class C Queensland Driver's Licence and General Construction Induction Card or equivalent.

Further Requirements

* Bachelor's degree in science or engineering or relevant discipline is desirable.
